Increase accessibility and acquisition by enhancing the quality of life in individuals within their home and community by providing durable medical equipment, through education, providing resources, and advocacy.
Durable medical equipment is any medical equipment used in the home or community to aid in a better quality of living. The most common types of durable medical equipment associated with our foundation are: manual and power wheelchairs and adaptive tricycles.
Education can create opportunities for better health. We educate individuals about available resources, durable medical equipment, human rights unrelated and/or related to healthcare, and self advocacy.
When successful, healthcare advocacy improves individual and community health which reduces health disparities. We advocate daily for disability inclusivity, equality, accessibility, autonomy, respect, and most importantly, dignity.
Everyone deserves accessibility and mobility.
Accessibility is imperative for all individuals regardless of their abilities. Accessibility is not a privilege or a luxury - it is a basic human right. Mobility Matters Foundation believes in helping others to achieve and maintain their accessibility within their home and community.
We are passionate about helping others maintain mobility in their homes and increase access to their communities. We believe that mobility for recreation is just as important as mobility for daily living activities. Pictured above is the approved proposal for the inclusive playground, located at Jackson Park in Hendersonville, NC. The estimated completion date is Spring 2023.
We are passionate about working and connecting with communities. We strive to provide access to equipment, education and resources with minimized fees, low-cost clinic days, as well as facilitating fundraisers. We currently serve Henderson County, but are eager and hopeful to expand our services across the United States.
According to the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities,
"Persons with disabilities include those who have long-term physical, mental, intellectual or sensory [such as hearing or vision] impairments which in interaction with various barriers may hinder their full and effective participation in society on an equal basis with others.”
We serve all individuals across the lifespan.
