Vanda expressed that MMF's Telehealth evaluation made it easy to meet her son's seating and positioning needs:
"I would have had to schedule a ride, get him ready, wait for the appointment, Joe would have been in pain, and waiting for services to bring us back [if Telehealth was not an option]."
Gary reports that without the Telehealth option that MMF provides, he wouldn't have been able to access his seating and mobility evaluation at all.
"The new chair has made a remarkable improvement in Mary Beth’s quality of life and her ability to maintain a semblance of normality in her everyday movements."
"Amy Siegler and her team have helped [my son] in more ways that I can even count! If it wasn't for them he wouldn't have gotten as far as he has! They mean so much to our family! Please consider donating!"
"[The therapist has] done more for us in the last year than our previous provider did in many years! If [she] says she’ll get something or do something, I have confidence it will be done!"
Bike Day was an awesome event. Hope receiving this bike will give her another way to participate in activities with her peers and our family. It will give her another way to strengthen her muscles and get around the park. It will be a way for us to make positive memories by getting outside for fun!
Hope was so happy tat she could maneuver on the grass! She was able to learn how to use the brakes. If you were near her that day, you would have heard her laugh with glee!
Thank you for the program!
It was a great way to see what he needs as far as fit and to try the bike in a real-life, kid-friendly location (i.e., not in a therapy setting).
Initially, my daughter was scared when we put her up on the bike. That ambivalence immediately turned to sheer joy when she was able to pedal and steer the bike herself, with guidance from me in the rear. She was so happy that she yelled, "I'm driving a motorcycle!" as she rode throughout the parking lot. She was smiling from ear to ear and still hasn't stopped talking about riding a "motorcycle" since then. I think this will be such a loved and amazing addition for her, for both enjoyment and therapeutic purposes. Many thanks to everyone involved in Bike Day - you have opened a door to us tat we didn't even know existed!
